Promoted Polish music and culture in the world, e. g. in USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; winner of several prizes at international and national contests; performed in prestigious concert halls, including Sydney Opera House; participated in premiere performances of works written by Polish and foreign composers; was awarded numerous scholarships; soloist and chamber musician.

Graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków (Poland) from piano class of professor Andrzej Pikul. Anna received master degree with honours in 2013. She has also studied under tuition of professor Sławomir Zubrzycki (constructor of viola organista).

During her latest concert tournée Anna visited four countries on two continents – Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA. and gave 15 recitals with Barbara Borowicz, Patrycja Piekutowska (the first ever violinist in Poland awarded the greatest musical prize – MIDEM Cannes Classical Award 2008), Marta Magdalena Lelek. The concerts took place in prestigious halls, e.g. Sydney Opera House. She performed in Ottawa, Calgary, Orchard Lake, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Wellington.

Anna Miernik has won several top prizes in international competitions, as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, including contests in e.g. Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Treviso, Taurisano (Italy), Kraków, Warsaw/Łomianki, Jawor (Poland), Belgrade (Serbia), Lvov (Ukraine), Stanjel (Slovenia), Anykščiai (Lithuania).

Anna has also performed in the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Chopin Museum in Warsaw and Żelazowa Wola (place of Chopin’s birth), Golden Hall in Cracow Philharmonic, The Castle in Niepołomice, The Crown Tribunal in Lublin, The Paderewski’s Residence in Kąśna Dolna, The Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, The Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology in Kraków and in other venues in Krynica, Skawina, Rybna, Katowice, Gorjansko (Slovenia). In 2010 she was a juror in a competition on the life of Chopin for secondary school students in Iwonicz. This event closed with Anna’s recital of Chopin’s music.

She performs during many festivals and concerts cycles such as: Young talents in Fryderyk Chopin’s Museum in Warsaw, International Festival of young talents from music competitions, Music Summer in Rybna, Chopin’s recitals in Żelazowa Wola, Cracow Composers’ Days, International Days of F. Liszt in Cracow, Svirel in Gorjansko (Slovenia), Chopin non stop in Cracow, Old City’s Harmonies in Lublin, Chopiniana in Krynica and several times during International Festival of Polish Music in Iwonicz-Zdrój.

The pianist gave a concert in the Philharmonic Concert Hall in Kraków with the Symphonic Orchestra of Academy of Music, conducted by P. Przytocki. She also played with the orchestra of the Rzeszów Philharmonic, conducted by P. Wijatkowski during the Prince Ogiński International Festival in Iwonicz. These concerts were the events of the Chopin Year celebrations.

Anna plays as a soloist, chamber musician and a member of an orchestra. In 2012 she performed a piece composed by W. Hekster Credences of summer for violin, clarinet and piano, which was the Polish premiere of the work. She also played in several world premieres of Polish works e.g. Hic et Nunc, Cracovia 5.13 for clarinet and piano, written by M. J. Papara (the piece is dedicated to Anna Miernik and clarinetist Barbara Borowicz). In addition, Anna made some recordings for radio stations: Radio Adelaide (Australia), 5 MBS, Polish Radio 2, Radio Rzeszów.

To develop her skills she has participated in master classes taught by renowned professors: P. Badura-Skoda (Austria), D. Yoffe (Russia), G. Nador (Hungary), C. Cebro (Spain), B. Canino (Italy), G. Velluti (Italy), R. Russo (Italy), M. Aust (Germany), O. Rapita (Ukraine), D. Petrova (Russia), M. Szczepański, M. Moś, M. Rzepka, T. Granat, K. Popowa-Zydroń (Poland).

Anna Miernik regularly performs with the clarinetist Barbara Borowicz; together they form SoundArtDuo ensemble, which primarily focuses on playing the works of Polish composers. Their duo has received several prizes at international competitions and has been frequently invited to play at various events.

In recognition of her artistic and scholarly accomplishments Anna Miernik has been awarded scholarships by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, The Municipality of the Royal City of Kraków, Sapere Auso Małopolska Scholarship Foundation, the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Rector of the Academy of Music in Cracow.
