Anna Miernik

piano

Anna Miernik is one of the few really outstanding Polish artists of the young generation.

/Zbigniew Lampart, composer, music critic/

As a soloist and a chamber musician she has already performed in 28 countries (Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, USA) on 5 continents. She has won several international and national prizes. In 2013 during her concert tour in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA Anna gave 15 recitals, including a concert in the world-famous Sydney Opera House, as well as in Brisbane, Calgary, Canberra, Melbourne, Ottawa, Perth, Wellington (New Zealand). In 2014 she has performed in Tbilisi (Georgia), Yerevan (Armenia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tel Aviv and Haifa (Israel), Turkey.

Anna received her honours degree from the Academy of Music in Kraków in 2013, after completing her studies in professor Andrzej Pikul’s piano class. She has also studied under tuition of professor Sławomir Zubrzycki (constructor of viola organista). Anna participated in master classes run by eminent pedagogues, such as prof. Paul Badura-Skoda and prof. Dina Yoffe.

Her first album containing Sonatas by J. Brahms and C. Franck was released in June 2014. The idea for this CD originated with Patrycja Piekutowska, world-renowned violinist, who invited Anna to join her in the project.

As her repertoire comprises the works of more than 20 Polish composers (including Chopin, Lutosławski, Szymanowski), the artist regularly adds their compositions to the programs of her concerts. In this way she promotes Polish music abroad. Thanks to her fascination with modern music Anna participated in several premiere performances of various compositions – even the ones that were dedicated to her.

In recognition of her artistic and scholarly accomplishments Anna Miernik has been awarded numerous scholarships. Her recordings have been broadcast by various media and reviews of the concerts were published in international newspapers.
